Event Planning for Non-University Groups

The university has designated certain locations on campus for reservation on a first come, first-served basis, by any person, including members of the general public. These locations include Park Plaza Amphitheater on the Monroe Park campus and the Patterson Gardens across from Hunton Hall on the MCV campus. General Guidelines for use of Park Plaza Amphitheater and Patterson Gardens:
- The individual or organizational representative that reserves the area must cooperate with appropriate staff and law enforcement with respect to any security arrangements that are required to support the event/activity.
- A student organization, university unit, and member of the public may not reserve the space for up to three consecutive days and with reservations not recurring more than three consecutive weeks.
- Any Major Event request must go through the Major Event reservation process.
- These may be reserved by utilizing the Park Plaza/Patterson Gardens Reservation Form.
- Students, Registered Student Organizations, faculty, and staff may also reserve these spaces through EMS.
